PROJECTS FROM SPAIN, COSTA RICA, MOROCCO AND GREECE WIN THE VIII PROMIS INCLUSIVE SPORT AWARDS

The jury selected five winners and two honorary recognitions in an edition that received entries from five countries. The awards ceremony will be held on 1 October at Caixa Popular headquarters in the Paterna Technology Park (Valencia, Spain)
The jury of the VIII Inclusive Sport Awards, organised by the Spanish association PROMIS (Profesionales del Mundo por la Integración Social), met on Wednesday 9 September and decided all five categories of this edition, as well as granting two honorary recognitions. Jury members had scored the entries beforehand; at the meeting those scores were reviewed and validated in each category.
Awarded projects
• Adapted sport: Club Deportivo Metasport CLM project (Albacete, Spain).
• Social integration and interculturality: «Auties, los mejores oficiales de mesa», which trains autistic people as basketball table officials (Moncofar, Castellón, Spain).
• Women’s sport: Canchas Libres, by Fundación Golees (Costa Rica).
• Inclusive sport innovation: Proyecto AFIN, by Instituto Josep Mestres i Busquets (Viladecans, Barcelona, Spain). Submitted under «Adapted sport», the jury decided to assess it in this category as a better fit.
• International inclusive sport: Sport for Development and Rehabilitation Program in Moroccan Correctional Facilities, by TIBU Africa (Morocco).
Honorary recognitions
• National level: Lucentum Zona Norte, by Fundación Lucentum (Alicante, Spain).
• International level: HPA/ESDT – Inclusive Sports 4 All in Greece, by the Hellenic Powerlifting Association (Greece).
“Inclusive sport knows no borders”
This edition received entries from Chile, Greece, Morocco and Costa Rica and, within Spain, from A Coruña, Albacete, Asturias, Barcelona and Madrid, as well as Valencia, Alicante and Castellón, the three provinces that remain at the heart of the Awards.
“The eighth edition consolidates a growing trend towards internationalisation and expansion across Spain,” says Alexander Díaz, President of PROMIS. “This geographical diversity is no coincidence. It reflects something we have seen edition after edition: inclusive sport knows no borders. More and more organisations, clubs, associations and public bodies see physical activity as a tool for social transformation, and find in our awards a space to make their work visible.”
Díaz thanks “the tireless work of the projects that enter these awards every year”, the support of the partner organisations and the commitment of the jury and the PROMIS team: “Thank you for believing that sport can —and must— be a space for everyone.”
The jury
This edition’s jury was made up of Ana Pavón, Kris Brackmann, Pepe Marín-Roig, Javier Peris and Antonio Pavón, with Alexander Díaz attending on behalf of PROMIS.
Awards ceremony
The awards will be presented on Thursday 1 October at 17:30 (CEST) at the Caixa Popular headquarters in the Paterna Technology Park (Carrer de Juan de la Cierva y Codorniu, 9, 46980 Paterna, Valencia, Spain).

About the Awards
Since 2019, the PROMIS Inclusive Sport Awards have recognised projects that use sport as a tool for social integration. They are open to clubs, associations, foundations, local councils, athletes and organisations from any country. Across eight editions they have awarded projects from seven countries.
